ATTENDANCE:
This year Maplewood is working on improving attendance. Please be mindful that the first bell rings at 7:50 AM, and the tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM. After 8 your child is late! Please help Maplewood improve its attendance by getting your child to school BEFORE 8:00 AM. Thank you for joining us in meeting our above 90% attendance goal!

What to expect WEEKLY in A-2:
Monday – pink weekly Smith Spokesman is returned signed. Weekly Calendar is handed out, completed daily, with weekly spelling and vocabulary words printed on other side for studying purposes. Weekly Comp A-Z is assigned for the week - due Friday. Spelling Sort (4 pages of the weeks spelling and vocabulary) is handed given, students usually have enough time during our Literacy Block to finish in class. Also due Friday.
Math homework varies per week, depending on our lessons. You can usually expect an average of two pages per week.
Thursday – Weekly Calendar signed at home.
Friday – Weekly Calendar, Comp A-Z, and Spelling Sort due. Spelling and vocabulary test given. Pink Smith Spokesman goes home to be signed and returned the following Monday.
